Accessible Transportation

Does Insurance Cover the Need for Accessible Transportation?

Most health insurance won't cover the need for accessible transportation, with one important caveat: if it's medically necessary transportation. In that situation, insurance may cover it; you may want to check with your insurance policy to find out.

On the other hand, long-term care insurance usually covers both medical and non-medical transportation services. Disability insurance may also cover transportation as needed, if special transportation is required. You can check with your individual insurance plans.

Luckily, accessible transportation is often less expensive than the price of a taxi, depending on what you need. If you need an ambulatory service, transportation is likely to cost less than either a taxi or a ride share. If you need more mobility help or bariatric care, transportation may be a little more expensive. You can get a quote today.
